Through my relationship with b-side (as their Youth Programme

Co-ordinator) and my relationship with the Southbank Centre (as a WHY? Young Activist) I brought the Southbank Centre's 'WHY? What's Happening for the Young?' Festival to b-side festival 2018.

WHY? What's Happening for the Young? is a festival that celebrates youth rights and youth voice. The festival was first launched in 2014 by the Southbank Centre and has been inspired by the UN Conventions of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

The festival was programmed and produced by b-side's most recent cohort of [intransit] Producers who participated in a series of workshops and training sessions (developed/facilitated by me) to develop their current skill set in production, event management and social action.

As the Creative Producer for this 8 month long project, I: developed the partnership with Southbank Centre; sourced the income and funding for the project through foundations, crowdfunding, local council support and lottery funding; managed the budget; sourced and contracted artists; paid facilitators; sourced volunteers; trained and line managed 5 young producers and evaluated the process, success and impact of the project through surveys, interviews and conversations.

More information on the festival here.
